Silent Agitation by the Brave Heroes of NAC
Delhi Police misbehaved with old women pensioners. They used force while the protesters demanded to meet the Labor Minister and CBT members. Permission not given instead silent demonstration conducted without slogans. NAC members from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Maharashtra participated IN demonstration on 20 November 2021 outside CBT venue.
Members of the National Agitation Committee (NAC) held a silent protest at the CBT meeting at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi. In a very unfortunate incident, female protesters were intimidated and by the rude male policemen. Delhi Police resorted to harassing and intimidating the silent agitators including women and old people above 60 years of age at the protest site.
Protest was organized against the rising mortality rate of EPS-95 pensioners in the hope of justice. More than 100 old pensioners including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Delhi made an successful attempt to convey their feelings to the CBT members by performing silently.
When the media representatives asked the silent protesters, they told that the pensioners wanted to request the CBT chairman and members because EPFO is trying to mislead the CBT members by cheating the pensioners. On the one hand, even after receiving the contribution of 6 crore employees every month, keeping the interest with him and having 6 lakh crore in the pension fund, even after taking budgetary support for minimum pension from the government, EPFO tries to show that the he does not have money in pension fund.
Based on the Supreme Court's decision dated 04.10.2016 in the matter of higher pension and even after EPFO's letter dated 23.03.2017, EPFO is not giving pensioners their due. He forced the pensioners to approach the courts again and again. EPFO is providing monthly medical allowance of Rs 2000 to its employees but pensioners are being denied medical facility. "Government of India is running other pension schemes smoothly, but EPS 95 pensioners are being given step-motherl treatment.. Due to all these reasons, the anger among pensioners is at its peak.
The Rashtriya Sangharsh Samiti (NAC) has been agitating for the last 5 years under the leadership of Commander Ashok Raut to get justice for EPS 95 pensioners. The four-point demands of NAC have not been accepted yet, that is why some important decisions were taken in the CWC meeting of NAC at Jamshedpur on 15.11.2021 to get the demands accepted. According to that, today was a silent demonstration in a peaceful manner.
Further the protesters say that our members are dying day by day and leaving this world in agony. Therefore, they were expecting some favourable decisions in today's CBT meeting. It was expected that the CBT would accept the proposal of our demands and send it to the Government. The CBT and the Government should not test our patience.
The protesters were led by Dr. Jayshree Patil of Maharashtra team, Dr. P N Patil, National Chief Advisor, Mr. Asharam Sharma of Uttar Pradesh team, National Vice President, Mr. Suresh Dangwal of Uttarakhand team, state General Secretary and Mr. Subhash Shah, state Secretary, Uttarakhand, Senior NAC leaders of Delhi the team Mr. Ramesh Bahuguna, Mr. Mukesh Mehn, Mrs. Asha Kamble, Mr. RS Ahluwalia, Mr. Rajender Cheetri, Mr. Dharam Veer, Mr. Kishan Lahot, Mr. Ved Prakash etc were present.
According to the resolution taken at the Jamshedpur CWC meeting, Delhi demonstration was carried out under the "EPS 95 Pensioners Save" campaign. This agitation would spark nationwide agitations in the country in the near future. This Agitation of Delhi will prove to be a milestone in the coming times.
