All EPS 95 Pensioners are might be aware that prior to 16-11-1995 Family Pension Scheme was in force paving the way to protect the family members of deceased EPF members. The contribution was low towards Family Pension Scheme and so were the benefits. EPS 1995 came into effect from 16-11-1995. There was a clause in the EPS '95 scheme if the employee had contributed for pension less than 10 years he can withdraw from the same which means no pension under EPS.
What now is the issue on higher wages or on actual salary in particular for those employees who had contributed towards the EPS scheme more than ten years. We are nearly 67 lakh pensioners but all of them are not going to get a higher pension. Because I know very well many of employees working in our establishment were getting Rupees 6500/- per month. It was only after 2005 they crossed the margin of 6500. It is well understood that nearly out of lakh pensioners only a few like R.C Gupta, Mr. Kohli, and some others came forward to fight for their pension.
After they established it we now trying to establish or receive the same. It has been very well pointed by some pensioners that the employees working in EPFO are getting better pension without any contribution whereas we employees are paid a paltry amount as pension.
It becomes our responsibility to highlight to Hon'ble High that the employees working in EPFO are getting better pension, and benefits out of the administration charges paid by the employer while remitting both the contributions. When EPFO is able to pay pension and other benefits to their own employees with a 0.5 percentage administration charge when there is no government budget support for their pension and benefits. We had filed a separate petition highlighting the issue. we had collected all data regarding this prior to filing.
