How to Change/Update Date of Birth(DOB) in the EPF UAN Portal by Online | List of Accepted Documents for DOB Correction in UAM Member Portal

Recently EPF Organization has introduced a new way to update Date of Birth(DOB) of the member in the UAN Portal by online itself. But there are some limitations to correct DOB in UAN Member portal the first is if DOB correction difference is more than one we have to upload the document then second the accepted documents by EPFO to correct DOB i.e. Birth Certificate, Education Certificate and Passport other than these three document no other documents are accept to DOB in EPF member record.

But EPFO issued a circular on 3 April 2020 to accept more document along with Birth Certificate, Education Certificate and Passport to correct DOB in UAN member Portal.

In this article first we will see list of documents are accept to correct DOB in UAN member Portal & Then How to Change/Update Date of Birth(DOB) in the EPF UAN Portal by Online

List of documents are accepted to correct DOB:

1. Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Birth and Deaths
2. Any school/education related certificate.
3. Passport.
4. Certificate based on the service records of the central/state government Organisations.
5. Any other reliable document issued by a government department.
6. In the absence of proof of date of birth as above, Medical certificate and supported with with an affidavit on oath by the member duly authenticated by a  Competent Court.
7. Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar: The change in date of birth shall be accepted as per Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar upto a maximum range of plus or minus three year of the date of birth recorded earlier with EPFO.

Please follow the below steps to update Date of Birth in UAN.

Step 1-Visit the EPFO’s Unified Member Portal. Log in to the account using your login using UAN number and password. Then under the tab “Manage”, select the option “Modify Basic Details”.

Step 2-Then you have to first enter your Aadhaar number and proceed for the entry of the details like name, gender and date of birth AS PER AADHAAR records.

Step 3: Once you have clicked on Update, A message would be displayed as “Pending approval by Employer”

Step 4: Call/Contact the Employer and ask them to approve your changes.Once they have approved, it would display this message and after which EPF Office has to approve the changes.EPF Office might take more than 30 days to approve the changes (I am not sure about how many days they will take to approve these changes)
